Enhanced Expectancies and the history of the NBA

The OPTIMAL theory of motor learning (Lewthwaite, Wulf 2016) espouses the anticipation and priming of the dopaminergic reward system causing increased attention, intensity and potentially reward reinforcing learning, called enhanced expectancies. We can apply this concept on and for our patients using cues, practice, and structure, setting them up initially for success that can build their foundations of motor learning for subsequent carryover in this and later related tasks. What if, though, Michael Jordan had never hit this shot? How much can enhanced expectancies form your patient’s perception of self? Use it for more wins now and in the future – in the rehabilitation of all of your patients! https://www.loom.com/share/9c806f4b1076472c9949007c6697b1ad
