The Middle Pathway

In a world where intensity is king, and rest is a sin, there is no “middle path”. Can we begin to make one? Can we steal the word “Euthymia” from mental health and give it a place in daily life? Can we begin to make it not only acceptable, but applauded – to breathe? Let’s help our patients recognize the healing space of the middle pathway, one that belongs in recovery as much as high intensity training does, and one as much as the newfound value of rest does. In HIIT, in HRV, in FITT, and in function…there must be a middle-space, or pathway that is not only acceptable – but desireable. Oh, and, by the way health care providers…let’s recognize that space for ourselves, as well.
